Biova Murray River salt from Australia
Known as the "Silk of salt" by some cooking experts, these thin apricot coloured flakes are light and extremely fragile.
The Murray River is the largest river in Australia and beneath it, is the huge Murray Darling Basin. Salt deposits are a natural feature of the Australian landscape and the ground water mixes with it to create a brine that is too salty for agricultural use. The underground reservoir has existed untouched for several thousand years.
When the Australian land owners started a project to filter out the salt from the Murray Darling basin, they discovered the beautiful Murray River salt flakes.
Our Murray River salt has a mild flavor and is ideal as a table salt or used in a seasoning. The crystals melt deliciously on the tongue.
